An oil painting inspired by a magic sunrise at Fishos Beach, Torquay, looking towards Breamlea/Barwon Heads. In this piece I wanted to capture the way the sun slowly began to creep above the horizon, it’s golden light washing over the sand and illuminating all of the grasses and bunny tails in the dunes.

I completed this painting back in 2023 and have had it hanging on my own wall ever since. I see it as a pivotal piece in my journey back into using oils and feel very proud of the mood I was able to capture in this one—the kind of piece that transports you straight back into the moment which inspired it.
